I call this drawing Jurassic Park but obviously it is a Triceratops. The name Triceratops comes from the Greek meaning "Three Horn Face". Triceratops existed about 68 million years ago and is one of the most recognizable of all of the dinosaurs. It shared the landscape with and was probably preyed upon by the fearsome Tyrannosaurs rex. Triceratops grew up to 30 feet long and 10 feet high - the largest skull found measured over 8 feet in length and 5 feet in width. Triceratops has been popularized in films such as Jurassic Park and Walking with Dinosaurs and is the official state fossil of South Dakota and the official state dinosaur of Wyoming. So why call the drawing Jurassic Park? Because the drawing is a Triceratops in outline only, within it's body it is filled with many other dinosaurs - most of which were found in Jurassic Park. It was a fun drawing to make and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed drawing it.
